How this work came together
Resource pooling and shared learning
Pooling expertise and capacity, the Observatory works with partners across Greater Manchester to build the infrastructure behind State of The Sector data — and the tools on this site.
The collective aims are to:
- Improve local understanding of the VCSE sector, including its strengths and challenges
- Contribute to a fairer, more transparent approach to funding and resource allocation
- Support a more collaborative and integrated VCSE sector
Collaborative action research
This programme treats the process of gathering and analysing data as seriously as the findings themselves. Work with VCSE organisations and Local Infrastructure Organisations keeps collection workable for the sector — and the results useful back to it.
