What you’re looking at

This is the State of The Sector dashboard for Greater Manchester, built by the VCSE Observatory for Greater Manchester State of The Sector. Each section summarises survey responses from local VCSE organisations — headline indicators first, then charts.

Area filter

• This is the Greater Manchester–wide dashboard — Area starts with no borough filter (all respondents).
• You can narrow to one or more boroughs, and combine with size, legal form and other filters.
• Within a filter, selecting several options means “any of these”. Across filters, selections combine (AND).
• If a combination leaves fewer than 10 organisations, it won’t apply — charts fall back to all GM organisations.

Moving around

• Use the sidebar (or the menu button on a phone) to switch sections.
• Population, health & socioeconomic context — external context (coming soon).
• Headline findings — modelled scale & contribution, and what organisations told us.
• Role in communities — what they do, where they operate, who they support, inclusion.
• Staff, Volunteers & Trustees — workforce snapshot, good work, recruitment.
• Communities: demand & access — demand, referrals, delivery.
• Financial position — reserves, income & expenditure, funding, full cost, outlook.
• Respondent profile — sample description (size, legal form, paid staff).
• Sections with Pages tabs at the top split into subsections — use those to move within a theme.
• Use PDF to export this page, all pages, or a custom mix of KPIs and charts.
